Getting a welcome break from their parental duties, Beyonce and Jay-Z stepped out for a NBA date night in New York City on Monday (February 20). The music power couple turned up at Madison Square Garden side-by-side as they were on-hand to catch the Presidents’ Day matchup between the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets - a team in which Jay is partial owner. The basketball outing comes just two days after Beyonce and Jay-Z were the focal point of a sketch on “Saturday Night Live” - which saw host Maya Rudolph taking on the role of the “Run The World (Girls)” singer while Jay Pharoah channeled the “99 Problems” rapper as they welcomed a lineup of stars dropping by to meet little Blue Ivy Carter.

She’ll be spending the first precious months at home with her new baby girl, but Beyonce Knowles is already thinking about her return to the music studio. Though the “Halo” singer is “enjoying the time off,” she is in talks with singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder, who told BoomBox blog that he has already sent the new mom several songs about motherhood. “The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening,” Tedder explained

Going to court to reject claims that he stole from his daughter, Beyonce’s father and former manager, Matthew Knowles, has filed legal papers against Live Nation. According to the documents, the 60-year-old alleges that the entertainment label fed lies to his superstar daughter, leading her to believe he took funds from her most recent tour. The filing stems from a financial audit conducted by Beyonce’s legal team earlier this year, which concluded that Matthew “had stolen money on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to,” according to TMZ
